The Path Ahead

We never really know what the new day will bring, what lies around each corner. The older we get, the more uncertainty there is, and the more fear that may creep in whether waking or sleeping. The only thing that has helped me to make it through a day is to understand, that first of all, I’m not alone. The best news is, I never have been alone, even though I wasn’t aware of that fact. You’re not alone, either, no matter what it is you’re going through, no matter what you’re facing, regardless of your age, your health, your status in life, you’re not alone. What does that really mean? It means that every problem you face is cut in half. It means that every person you meet is a potential friend because you have one who is a peacemaker by your side. It means that you never have to truly worry about what comes at the end of life, of every journey. Because you know your destination. That is, you know your destination, if you trust in that one, who does walk beside you. I spent most of my life understanding that there is a higher purpose, a higher calling, someone else who was present. Did I know him closely? Not really. But recently I’ve gotten to understand that every step I take is echoed by the step of someone beside me. The picture that you see at the side shows a void with little definition. That is how life is when we are separate from God. Purpose is missing, and true understanding is rare. Take a moment to consider whether your life is better alone, or with a friend named Jesus.
