About

The Old Shepherd is a site where those who feel lost following a crisis or simply weary from the general assaults of life can be inspired and encouraged in their journey. There are excerpts from classical writers, inspirational posters, original thoughts and commentary on current events from an educated Christian perspective. Those who want to progress in their relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob may also be helped in this pursuit by materials located here.

The Old Shepherd’s Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; that all born-again believers together constitute the Body of Christ as described in Romans 12:4-5, the regular assembly of Christ followers; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and life everlasting. Amen.
